OnTime Baths Construction Company Website

On Time Baths old website on proprietary CMS

OnTime Baths construction company had a problem with their old website: they didn’t own it. It was built in a proprietary CMS by a company that develops and markets a software-as-a-service product for inbound marketing.

While that company’s product is solid, having a website built on a proprietary platform is not a good idea for small businesses. I recommend WordPress for small businesses, as it is an open-source platform with a huge user and support base (more than 70 million websites as of Feb. 2014), flexible, reliable, and fairly easy t use.

Planning A Construction Company Website

Branding & Website Strategy

But there were other problems that had nothing to do with the platform, and more to do with lack of planning.

So we first set out to fine-tune the company branding and devise a strategy for this construction company new website. I like to consider all aspects of a company’s online presence, and approach the re-design methodically. Improvisation seems to be the number one killer of these projects.

In the end, we updated the look of the site, without without steering too far from the original color scheme. We made a point of simplifying navigation, highlighting this bathrooms contractor’s work in a showcase page.
